This is blog is moving
I've decided to make my blog public, because I don't really care if people don't like what I have to say anymore. I'm not going to tip-toe around peoples' feelings. So to anyone that actually reads this, the new blog is:

I had every intention of making a long blog post, but I'm losing interest quickly. Bad enough this has been sitting here open for over 2 hours, and I am just now typing something. Anyway, a quick update:
Work is good. my contract got extended again, this time until, the end of March. Hopefully something permanent comes up before then. I'm sure I could try to use an "in" to get something good, but um, no thank you. I feel bad enough that I got hired as a temp mostly because my mother-in-law recommended me for the job. I DO NOT want that to be the case if I get hired on permanently. I want it to be because I do great work & am an asset to the team. NOT because I'm friends with someone or related to them. That's kind of why I'm not beaten up that I didn't get hired in my cousin's old job; I don't want people to think I was handed anything. I hate people who rely solely on who they know to make something of themselves.
The only issue with work is a co-worker who doesn't like me for some reason. She's been extremely rude & mean to me ever since I helped a temp she was training last spring. Ever since that day, she either ignores me, is mean to me or is extremely rude. She even went so far as to give every person on our team a Christmas card, except for me. Honestly, I didn't want one anyway, because it would have been fake. However, when I did them for the team, I was sure to give them to EVERYBODY on our team. I was a grown ass woman & made myself be an adult. Not give me a card, she hung up all the cards she was given, except for mine. WTF is that??? BE AN ADULT!!!
Our anniversary trip was amazing. It was SO nice to get away from everything & be together for 4 days straight. The only downfall was that I was a moron & didn't wet my hair before getting in the pool & hot tub, which gave me some bright green highlights. I was mortified. In all my life as a blonde, that's never happened. I guess I should consider myself lucky. It took about a week for the green to go away on its own. Other than that, the trip was wonderful. The bar & grill had great food & an awesome bartender that comped us one round of drinks since it was our anniversary that weekend. We got some shopping in at the outlets in North Conway, which is where Ryan bought me a beautiful diamond wedding band:
Ryan bought himself a nice pair of Timbs & some new clothes from American Eagle. We also did a bit of Christmas shopping. It was very nice. It was hard for both of us to go to work again after the long weekend together :(
The holidays were good. On Christmas Eve, we went to my mother-in-law's house to do Christmas there around noon. It was nice. We headed to Gram Rawski's to do Christmas there...It was a great night!! Then Christmas morning I woke up at 5am to put ham & broccoli chowder on to bring to my cousin's for Christmas dinner. Went back to bed, then got up around 9am to open presents with mum, dad, Kirstin, Ryan & Captain. Everyone had a great Christmas! Everyone loved the presents we gave them :) Christmas was AWESOME up at my cousin's house...Great food, some of the best family ever, tons of laughs & love...What more can you ask for?? Ryan & I got to meet the new bird, Millie, in case we house sit again this year. Later that afternoon we headed to the Chagnon side of the family for Christmas there, as well as DJ's birthday. All in all, a great holiday!
New Year's Eve I worked until 6pm, then we all headed up to my cousin's again to ring in the New Year, just like every other year. It was awesome, as always. The guys all played poker except for Uncle Herb & my cousin Jaime. Jamie played Blurt with all of us ladies. Lisa & Melissa made 200 jello shots again this year, and we did a good job consuming them. We even built a tower:
It was a great time had by all. I love our family get togethers! We have started doing them a bit more often again....Still nothing like when Papa was still alive though, which is quite sad...Speaking of Papa, I've been preparing myself to look through some old pictures of him & make copies for myself...Gonna be hard...
Ryan & I are hoping our tax return is decent this year, so we can continue paying things off. Hopefully if all goes well, we can look into getting a VA loan & start looking for a house...Looks like we're leaning towards living in NH, which is alright by both of us...We'll still be close to family, and that's very important to both of us...
Ryan is doing really well at work...He has crew trainer class this week, and should know after that if he's being promoted. I really hope he does, because he wicked deserves to be! I'm so proud of him :)

20 November 2011
Yup.
Just clenching my teeth & smiling silently is getting old...I hate when people tell you things that have been said by others, and then don't want you to say anything...Makes dealing with the person who potentially talked shit VERY hard... Ugh.
My contract at work got extended by almost a month, and I'm SO thankful for that!! I interviewed for another position in the company last month, but I ended up not getting it...It kind of sucked, but I wasn't thrilled with the job anyway...They advertised it one way, and it was completely different when they started explaining it at the beginning of the interview...I was still polite, answered the questions like I was interested, and asked some good questions at the end...As much as I want to be hired on permanently, I know I wouldn't have been happy with the position...So now we're hoping Liberty will extend my contract a while longer, and/or something permanent will come up in my department...I really want to stay there...I get along with most all of my team, and they respect me even though I haven't been hired...Another member of my team actually brought up how much she wants me to stay to a supervisor 3 levels above us...I was totally flattered, and really shocked...Since then, things have been so good with all of us working together....Not that they weren't before, but now it's just better somehow...
Ryan was specifically asked to work the other night, because some corporate people were coming in to check out the store & staff...They wanted their best people on, and they made sure to tell him he'd definitely be working it...He said it went well, and I'm glad...He also put in to be a shift trainer and/or manager...I really hope he gets it! He said many times the store manager has asked him to help with things, so he's confident that that is a good sign of how he is doing in his job...I'm so proud of him!
My uncle is finally out of the hospital, and I can't even put into words how relieved I am...I'm brainstorming ideas right now of what to do for him for Christmas...I'm thinking of making up a basket of goodies for him, and a few gift cards... He gets down on himself sometimes, because he's not back up to how he was before the extended hospital stay, but the dr's told him he has no idea how close to dying he really was... I hate that it was THAT bad, and no one ever mentioned it...I would have been devastated if we had lost him, and then found out everyone knew it was probably going to happen & didn't say anything so that I could make myself go see him in ICU...I didn't want to see him like that, but if that's the only way I'd get to see him again, I'd have done it in a heartbeat... I'm just so thankful that he is still here, and that he is getting stronger every day...
Sometimes people get so obsessed with something that they don't realize they are alienating others around them & making them feel ignored... 99% of the time those feeling that way will never speak up, because they know it will cause an issue, or make some people think they're an asshole... Sometimes it's easier just to deal with it...
Thanksgiving should be pretty good...Ryan has to work overnight since it's most likely going to be insane with people going Black Friday shopping & whatnot...He's waking up early so he can eat at my Gram's though... I'm kind of excited, because I'm doing some of the cooking! I'm going to make sweet potatoes, and also some double chocolate chunk pumpkin cookies... I can't wait to see what the family thinks!!! Christmas seems to be coming so quickly...Luckily we pretty much know what we're getting people...Dad's all figured out, as is Peg & the family, and our gift swap people... I think I know what we're doing for Kirstin, and I know what the kids on the Chagnon side are getting...Still not sure what we're doing for mum though, so we need to work on figuring that out... I might venture out on Black Friday, but most people around here think it's lame, so I'll be going mid-day, and probably alone...Ah well, it'll help with the gift planning...
I've been doing really well with my walking, and it's starting to pay off...I am really starting to feel comfortable with myself, and it feels AMAZING! I know Ryan is glad, because he hates when I tear myself down...I'm just hoping I'll see even more results before we leave for our weekend getaway :D
